LBB Families - Updates

A message from…Long Beach Ballet Artistic Director,

David Wilcox

Dear Long Beach Ballet Family,

As you know, the deadline to register your dancer for our 2021 production of The Nutcracker at the Terrace Theater is next Thursday, September 30th.  Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity for your child to experience the joy of performing on stage with full symphony orchestra!

You have most likely heard about our fundraising event – The Sugarplum Soiree – on Friday night October 8th.   Please help us raise the funds needed to make this Nutcracker production possible!  Most people don’t realize all that goes into a major theatrical production.  The expense budget for The Nutcracker has approached the one million dollar mark several times over the past several years.

In appreciation of your support, LBB families who participate in our Sugarplum Soiree fundraiser will be eligible to purchase Nutcracker tickets prior to the general ticket sales date.  In other words, though ticket sales will officially begin on Monday, October 18th, anyone who attends and/or donates auction items or funds to the event will be able to select their seats on Wednesday and Thursday, October 13th and 14th thereby getting the best seats in the house!

We are currently being swamped with questions from the general public on whether we’re presenting The Nutcracker this year, and the answer is a resounding YES!  From the sound of things, the public is chomping at the bit to buy tickets to our Nutcracker — the Nutcracker that was voted “Most beloved Nutcracker in the U.S.” by Goldstar audience members in 2018 and 2019!

Thanks once again for being a loyal Long Beach Ballet supporter and member of our “ballet family.”

Warm regards,

David Wilcox
