To Don Quixote Cast Member Families:

We are so happy to see our dancers in rehearsals for Don Quixoteand we look forward to our Pre-Ballet cast starting on April 9th!

See the attached Cast Member Handbook for important information regarding the production.  The Handbook can also be found on the LBB website using “click-it,” so you’ll always be able to reference the information.

Watch your emails regarding ticket sales starting on Saturday, April 9th.  The ticket information and links will be emailed to cast member families the week of April 4th.

Don Quixote – Rehearsals begin (Saturday, March 12)

  • Saturday, June 4, 2022 – 2:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, June 5, 2022 – 2:00 p.m.

Upon registration, Student must be available to participate in both performances.  Once registration of cast is confirmed, Pre-Ballet and Children 1 & 2 levels may be double cast.

In order to maintain the professionalism of this huge production, all participants must agree to the following Parent/Student requirements:

It is a requirement for participation that dancer is a current LBB student for the full month of February and remain current in their class attendance and class tuition through the month of June 2022 (eligible for the June annual evaluations). Tuition in full for the month of June is due no later than June 3rd.

  • Return this signed agreement with the non-refundable participation fee no later than March 5, 2022 midnight.
  • To confirm Student’s spot in this year’s cast, the participation fee is due now with this completed form.
Parent agrees that the Student will attend all scheduled rehearsals for student’s role beginning:
  • Saturday, March 12th (Children & Academy)
  • Saturday, April 9th (Pre-Ballet)
  • and weekly Saturday rehearsals thereafter through May 28th.  (There is no rehearsal the weekend of Easter – April 16th).* Saturday, May 28th is the final studio run-through rehearsal with an alternate rehearsal schedule.

Parent and Student understand that rehearsals are in addition to student’s regular ballet classes.  Cast members who do not consistently attend their minimum number of required classes per week will be dropped from the cast with no refund.

Parent will adhere to the rehearsal attendance and lateness policy  (see below)*Student will attend all scheduled theater stage rehearsals (June 1-3) for assigned role/cast.**

We look forward to another successful Spring performance!   With everyone’s commitment to their role in this production, we know that this will be the best year yet!

Attendance/Lateness Policy – Whatever the reason, if a student misses a rehearsal or is late, that rehearsal becomes less productive for everyone.  Please make sure that your child arrives a few minutes before the beginning of his/her scheduled rehearsal and is ready to begin rehearsal at the designated times.  A student will be considered “absent” if he/she arrives 15 minutes or later than the beginning of the scheduled rehearsal.

A 1st and 2nd offense will receive a written warning to the parent/student.  A 3rd offense will be a mandatory $50.00 donation to the school.  A 4th and final offense will result in being dropped from the cast.  All scheduled theater stage rehearsals must be attended.  A missed theater stage rehearsal will result in either being dropped from the production whether or not the absence is a first offense or assessed a $200.00 fine at the discretion of the Director.

I have read the above information and agree to the requirements for my child to participate in this year’s production of Long Beach Ballet’s “Don Quixote”  By signing this form and paying performance fees, parents/guardians agree to Long Beach Ballet’s right to use any photo or video recording of their child for promotional purposes.

I understand that the Participation Fee is non-refundable.

Long Beach Academy is thrilled to bring back our grand production of

DON QUIXOTE to the Richard and Karen Carpenter Performing Arts Center this June!

We invite all current LBB dancers to participate in this beautiful production.  Online sign-ups begin this Saturday, February 19th.

An email reminder will be sent to those who are eligible to participate in this production.  Watch for the email on Friday 2/18, with the link to the registration form.

We are so proud of our dancers for working hard in classes and in rehearsals.  The performances will be so exciting on stage!

With the last few rehearsals coming up, it is important that all dancers attend their rehearsals as we see the whole ballet coming together.  Here are important reminders/updates:

Swan Lake 2021

Long Beach Ballet presents the world’s greatest ballet

-Swan Lake at the Irvine Barclay Theater.

Saturday and Sunday, June 12th and 13th, both shows at 2:00 p.m.

Due to limited seating, in-person tickets are only available to family members.  A four-camera live-stream will be available to the general public.  To order the live stream, visit LongBeachBallet.com.

Long Beach Ballet’s sumptuous production of Swan Lake will feature a cast of 120, including Derek Drilon, current soloist with the Joffrey Ballet as the Prince;  Megan Wilcox, finalist at the 2013 Prix de Lausanne international ballet competition as Odette, and Hailey Pemberton, last featured as the Fairy Godmother in Cinderella as the Black Swan.

Long Beach Ballet is internationally recognized for their annual production of The Nutcracker, which was voted “America’s most beloved Nutcracker” in 2018 and 2019 by the national ticketing organization Goldstar.

Long Beach Ballet’s elaborate production of Swan Lake, which was last presented six years ago at the Richard and Karen Carpenter Performing Arts Center, showcases over 200 costumes and 8,000 square feet of scenery.

It has been wonderful to see the happy faces of our Swan Lake cast dancers in their rehearsals.  Presenting our performances at a new venue and within the ever-changing safety guidelines will be a learning experience for all, but we are looking forward to another fantastic production this June!  Thank you to the cast, parents, faculty, and staff for their efforts to give our dancers another great performance opportunity.

Watch for the email in May, that will be sent directly to you announcing the start of sales with your exclusive ticket link.  Don’t forget to use the LBB app on your phone for instant notifications on Swan Lake news (remember to choose the “Swan Lake Cast” notification group so you will receive important information).

We have received permission from the Barclay Theater to sell 400 seats of the total theater capacity, which is 750.  That comes to a total of 800 tickets that will be available for the two performances.  Please note the following important information:

  • All ticket sales will be through the Long Beach Ballet office.
  • Tickets will be $60.00 each (all ages and seating locations).  It is a small theater and every seat is great!
  • Initially, each family will be allowed to purchase up to 4 tickets.
  • Additional tickets may become available to purchase as we get nearer the performance date.
  • Seats will be assigned best available with the distancing of unused seats between parties.

For the first time, our Spring performance will also be available to watch on a Livestream for those who cannot attend the performances in-person.   The cost of the Livestream will be $35.00 for the one-time live-viewing.

Starting in May, tickets sales will begin in different “tiers” with sales to:

  1. Swan Lake production sponsors and families who donated their ticket purchases and/or performance fees from last year’s Spring production
  2. customers who have credit for tickets purchased last Spring
  3. Swan Lake Cast families (who are not eligible for the above tiers)
  4. general sales
