Join us for an unforgettable evening at the Long Beach Ballet’s annual Swing It Up! fundraising gala aboard the iconic Queen Mary. This year, we are thrilled to welcome back the talented Alex Mendham and his Orchestra, whose infectious energy and classic sound will have you dancing the night away.
The historic Queen Mary, long known for its mysterious and friendly spirits, will add a special charm to this year’s event. Word has spread among the ship’s spectral inhabitants about last year’s celebration, and they’ve decided to join us for this magical occasion. You never know who – or what – might appear on this one-of-a-kind evening!
This year’s gala will play a pivotal role in raising vital funds for our upcoming production of Coppélia in June. Additionally, the evening will provide crucial assistance to our dedicated performing company dancers, empowering them to continue their artistic journeys and enrich our community with their inspiring performances. We are also committed to maintaining our tuition at the most affordable rates in the region, as we have proudly done for the past 44 years. Your support will help sustain key programs, including our summer intensives in Long Beach and China, fostering opportunities for artistic growth and cross-cultural exchange.
Seats are limited! Come enjoy a night filled with live music, dancing, delicious food, and an enchanting atmosphere, all while supporting the future of the Long Beach Ballet. Your participation in this event makes a direct impact on the success of our dancers and future productions, so don’t miss your chance to be part of this special celebration!

The Queen Mary, a historic ocean liner turned hotel and museum, is docked in Long Beach, California. Originally launched in 1936, this iconic ship sailed the Atlantic Ocean for decades before being retired in the 1960s. Now a permanent fixture in Long Beach, the Queen Mary offers visitors a chance to explore its rich history through exhibits, tours, and even paranormal investigations. Guests can also enjoy dining, shopping, and overnight stays in the grand ship’s rooms, making it a unique destination blending nostalgia with modern attractions.
